Kansas City, Missouri: Fun on a Lake

Nora (3 year old) has never jumped off the side of a swimming pool without making sure Whitney or I would catch her. Today, she jumped off an elevated diving board into a lake within the first few minutes of arriving here, wow! The same kid that until now doesn’t really even want her head to go into the water. Great advancement, now if we can get her to do some swimming lessons without a floaty on we can really build some water safety skills for her.

Came down to Kansas City for 2 nights to see great friends. I went to business school with Ben, and his wife Mara came to visit us in Atlanta throughout the year. That was 2005 and I have been coming back here for the last 14 years. A lot of great times over the years. This was no different.

We drove straight through, about 2 hours 50 minutes from Des Moines, Iowa, so we arrived at lunch time and hung out all afternoon on the lake they live on. Fantastic time. Pictures tell the story for this one too. Finished the evening trying to catch (& release) fireflies with the girls, was a lot of laughs… Scarlett was successful with catching one which annoyed Nora for a bit 😂…
