Day 3: A Return To Form…

Tantrum day was behind us, today was bloody great. 3 magic snapshots…

  1. gym session with Baby Hazel… got her out of the hotel room without waking her sisters at ~5am, made a makeshift bed on workout mat and towels. Great baby holding and morning smiles, interspersed with some naps. I got a solid workout during those naps. All the time watching England batting against India in the World Cup Cricket match.

  2. great driving time … Whitney drove today, all 5 hours, making it 3 days in a row, all 3 kids were great, and I therefore crushed personal emails, watched India almost chase down England’s run total, and took in the magnificent countryside from Butte, Montana to Sheridan, Wyoming.

  3. dinner poolside with our family plus my parents… Australia Grandma and Grandpa watched the girls in the hotel pool while Whitney and I did a grocery shop for car and playground snacks. Picked up Mexican to go and brought it back to the pool. Scarlett and Nora got about 3 hours of pool time. Made bedtime a whole lot easier as they were crushed, albeit way past bedtime.

Kids 1 - Parents 0… Whitney had mentioned about 2 hours earlier that she would take them across the street to Dairy Queen once they got out to eat dinner. We weren’t thinking they were going to be in the pool for 2 more hours! Sure enough they remembered the offer and enforced the terms so it added about 30 minutes after bath time. Classic and brilliantly selective memory! They seem to forget to brush their teeth the moment after I remind them 😂.
